A Welcome Message from Pastor Doug Spurlock
Welcome to the Inwood United Methodist Church website. I am glad you have chosen to spend a few moments looking around, discovering our church family and our many ministry opportunities. As I describe the Inwood U.M.C. to people, I use words like “community’, family, serving, and spiritual growth.”
We are a group of people committed to following Jesus Christ in the world. That means we worship the Lord with vigor and joy, as well as sacred reverence. That means we encourage prayer in church and throughout life. That means we love people both inside and outside the church through generosity, invitation, love and compassion.
Our hope is that all people will feel loved and welcomed at the Inwood United Methodist Church. And once here, we pray that people will meet God and as a result of meeting God, give their lives to Jesus Christ. We want that for you. Come as you are. Check us out, but more importantly, seek the truth of God that can only be known when one knows Jesus. Our worship service on Sunday morning, worship styles, music styles, liturgy, communion starts at 9 am. We also have a donut and coffee time prior in the basement at 8:30 for sharing with each other. We then have a Sunday School time at 10 am.
While you are browsing our website, you will learn about our programs and ministries to catch a glimpse of who we are, but only a glimpse. To fully understand us, come to a worship service, or Bible Study in-person and see the fellowship that comes when people share time together with the Holy Spirit present.
It is our belief that the church allows us to do much more together in our community than by ourselves, so jump in and serve with us. By working and serving together, we can make a difference in our surrounding communities for Jesus Christ.
